Japfa co-hosted the 10th International Conference on Social Life Cycle Assessment (S-LCA 2026) at Japfa The Learning Center (JTLC) in Megamendung, Bogor, from 17–19 June 2026. Organised by Life Cycle Indonesia (LCI) with Japfa as co-organiser, the conference marked the first time this global forum has been held in the Asia-Pacific region since its founding in 2010.

Themed "Unity in Diversity," S-LCA 2026 brought together researchers, policymakers and industry representatives from around the world, with more than 140 abstracts submitted from over 30 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, the Americas and Oceania. The programme explored how social sustainability methodologies, including the ISO 14075 standard, can better reflect the local contexts and wisdom of Asian communities.
Opening the conference, Gabriella Santosa, COO Corporate Shared Services of Japfa Pte Ltd, said: "Sustainable growth is growth that creates value for everyone involved. That is why sustainability is not a separate agenda for us. It is fundamental to how we operate."

Japfa's involvement in this field runs deep. In 2021, it was the only agri-food company globally - and the only one from Southeast Asia - to serve as a road tester in a Social Life Cycle Assessment led by the UNEP Life Cycle Initiative. The assessment found that 86% of its contract farmers reported higher incomes after joining the company's partnership programme, and Japfa’s field experience later fed into the guidelines underpinning ISO 14075.

Hosting the conference at JTLC reflected a belief that has guided Japfa from the start: that people are its most valuable resource. Ms. Santosa closed with the hope that the forum would advance social sustainability and help build value chains that are more inclusive.
